The guide, the luxury air-conditioned coach, the panoramic tour of Bath, the Lacock photo stop and the Windsor visit are in every option. Stonehenge and Windsor Castle admission come only with the entry options, so read the option name carefully at checkout. The Roman Baths are never included on this tour, whatever you pay. The pub lunch at the George Inn in Lacock comes only with the lunch option.

If your option leaves entries out, you pay at the gate. English Heritage advance tickets for Stonehenge cost £27.20 ($36.05) for an adult, or £32.00 ($42.41) on the day, so booking your own ticket in advance saves money. If you want to go inside the circle instead of standing on the roped path, this tour cannot do that: that is a separate inner circle tour from London.

Stop by Stop

Boarding runs from 7:30 AM at Gate 19-20 inside Victoria Coach Station, and the coach leaves at 7:45 AM. Windsor comes first, about 90 minutes at the castle with the entry option, plus 15 minutes at St George's Chapel, the site of royal weddings including the Earl and Countess of Wessex and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Stonehenge gets about 90 minutes, reached by a 10-minute shuttle or a roughly 30-minute walk from the visitor centre across exposed ground.

Lacock follows, a 45-minute guided walk through the village used for Harry Potter filming, with the pub lunch at the George Inn around 3 PM if you chose that option. Note the operator's warning that lunch can slip later or become an early supper around 5:30 PM. The day ends with a drive through Bath past Pulteney Bridge and the Royal Crescent, a 15-minute stop at Bath Abbey, and an hour to visit the Roman Baths at your own expense if you want. The drop-off near Gloucester Road Underground station comes at about 8:30 PM.

Check These Before Booking

The operator asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness, and no minimum age or wheelchair provision is stated, so families with very small children and wheelchair users should confirm arrangements with the operator before booking. Infants must sit on an adult's lap, though prams and strollers can be carried. No hotel pick-up is offered, so you make your own way to Victoria Coach Station for 7:30 AM.

The bigger question is the pace. About 90 minutes at Stonehenge is the least time at the stones of any four-stop coach day on this site, and the roped path keeps you a good distance back from the stones on every normal ticket. If you want two hours or more with the stones as the only stop, the Stonehenge morning half-day tour gets you back in London by about 2 PM. If you want a smaller group instead of up to 75 people, the small-group Stonehenge, Bath and secret place day runs 15 seats, though its Stonehenge ticket is paid on the day.

What to Bring

Closures That Change the Day

Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and 25-26 December, so on those dates you get free time in Windsor town instead. St George's Chapel is closed on Sundays, with extra time in the castle precincts. If the State Apartments shut at short notice, the visit may move to the precincts, the chapel or Queen Mary's Dolls' House.

The stone circle closures in October and November do not affect this tour, because it never goes inside the circle.
